Der Wildpark am südwestlichen Stadtrand von Dülmen ist ein Glücksfall der Landschaftserhaltung, wenn auch des Mittelalters bzw. der frühen Neuzeit. Beispielhaft kann hiermit gut die Bewirtschaftung von Eschkämpen illustriert werden, da das Gelände bis 1860 landwirtschaftlich genutzt wurde und seitdem 'eingefroren' ist, da durch die Umwandlung zum Landschaft- und Wildpark oberflächlich bis auf die Anlage von Wegen und Teichen kaum Umgestaltungen erfolgten. Deutlich wird, dass die Oberfläche der aufgehöhten Eschkämpe Wölbbeete bilden, die sonst durch die bis heute reichende Nutzung längst flachgepflügt sind (siehe auch Losser-NW, Niederlande). The wildlife park on the south-western outskirts of Dülmen is a stroke of luck in terms of landscape conservation, albeit from the Middle Ages and early modern times. The cultivation of 'Eschkämpe' is a good example of this, as the area was used for agriculture until 1860 and has been 'frozen' since then, as the conversion to a landscape and game park meant that hardly any changes were made to the surface apart from the creation of paths and ponds. It becomes evident that the surface of the elevated 'Eschkämpe' forms ridge-and-furrow beds, which are otherwise ploughed flat along their length due to the use that has continued to this day (see also Losser-NW, Netherlands).
